The CIT program is intended to prepare the individual for the leadership and responsibility of being a counselor and or instructor.

During the apprenticeship curriculum, CIT’s take on extra responsibilities in exchange for benefits and privileges, including discounted tuition. Although each level of the CIT program have special requirements or features, they all have the following elements in common:

The Counselor-in-Training Program has multiple levels for campers to achieve.
Junior CITs play the role of camper buddies; knowing the routine, Junior CITs are able to help first year campers feel comfortable, make friends, and most of all have fun!

Senior CITs take on more responsibilities including assisting counselors with lessons, facilitating games, mentoring the younger campers and Junior CITs.

The Aqua Surf School CIT programs are intended to prepare young individuals for the leadership and responsibility of being a counselor and or instructor.

Pricing (limited availability):

4 weeks = $1300 + 195 (surcharge) = $1495

8 weeks = $1650 + 247.50 (surcharge) = $1897.50

12 weeks = $2085 + 312.75 (surcharge) = $2397.75

*Surcharge is our 15% beach permit fee we pay to the city.

Rules, responsibilities, and obligations will explained to the participant the first day of the program. There are 3 levels of each program. Every level is a minimum of 4 weeks for completion. Upon completion of each level, a participant will be awarded a certification of completion. Completion of all 3 levels in a program, will allow the participant to move to the next program. If a participant only completes 3 weeks, of the 4 week minimum, he or she may make-up the remaining week in the winter and spring break camp. If the participant can not attend the winter or spring sessions, he or she may apply the make-up week to the following summer, at a prorated price. Once a CIT turns 16 years old they are welcome to apply to become a camp counselor.

This is not a job, but a camp program we offer for junior teens. Parents pay a discounted camp tuition to have their child attend the program. Participating in the program does not guarantee future employment with Aqua Surf but references will be provided for those that successfully complete the program. A CIT can be removed from the program, if he or she does not comply with the rules, regulations, and expectations of the CIT program. Refunds will not be granted under any circumstances. The amount paid can be used for the child to attend camp as a standard attendee. Sign Up Now
